Recognise open landscapes
Savannas are dominated by herbaceous vegetation with more scattered trees. Water availability and seasonal change shape how animals use the landscape.
An example from Komodo
UNESCO describes Komodo National Park through savanna hills, patches of woody vegetation, and coastal environments. One park can contain several connected habitats.
Do not read it as empty land
Open ground is not automatically forest awaiting trees. Before supporting a project, ask about its reference habitat and the ecological reasons for proposed actions.
A responsible visit
Check permits, guides, and visiting conditions with the official manager. Follow designated routes and safety instructions; never lure animals closer with food.
