Published focus

The Little Fireface Project (LFP), led by Professor Anna Nekaris, states that its mission is to deepen understanding of all loris species and to foster conservation through education and community engagement. Its current focus is the Javan slow loris (Nycticebus javanicus), with a research station in West Java studying a wild population since 2012. Its long-term study is based in Cipaganti.

Understanding its work

The website describes loris ecology research, surveys of forests and wildlife markets, a Nature Club (Klub Alam) for children in Cipaganti since 2013, the children's book “Slow Loris Forest Protector”, and a Wildlife-Friendly Coffee Programme with farmers in Cipaganti and Pangauban that gained Wildlife Friendly certification in 2020. LFP also publishes data collection guidelines and campaigns for responsible ecotourism.
