Agree on your commitment
Describe your availability, experience, home, and existing animals. Ask about the animal’s particular needs and whether the placement length may change.
Put arrangements in writing
Clarify who provides food, pays for care, chooses the clinic, and makes emergency decisions. Record the coordinator’s contact and a plan if you cannot continue.
Keep communication clear
Follow the organisation’s guidance and keep simple daily records. Do not independently advertise the animal for adoption or change care without agreement. Wildlife fostering requires specialised authorisation.
A local starting point
BAWA describes a foster programme on its official site. Contact the team about matching and the support actually available when you apply.
